Practices for our Leaders of Others

These are five skills we want every Leader of Others to cultivate so that you show up at your best for your team.

Create an open, trusting environment where teamwork, cooperation, and high performance are valued, and ensure it remains that way.

Conduct regular, transparent reviews. Be quick and proactive with opportunities to unblock the team or address challenges.

Give direction, encouragement, and active support for team members to work independently toward their and the team’s goals.

Help team members know where Humana is going and how their role fits into the bigger picture. Then set goals together with clear, prioritized ways to work toward them.

Have regular, open conversations with your team about their development, guiding with questions rather than providing prescriptive answers.
